I did a photo shoot in downtown Salt Lake today. I had planned to meet my subjects at a Thai Curry restaurant across from pioneer park, where I would have the couple sit underneath the colorful umbrellas shading the tables out front. A couple of oops threw a little wrench into my plan.
1. the farmers market was going on. people were everywhere and parking was scarce. this completely slipped my mind until I saw the hoards of people and tents as I was driving up to the restaurant. oops.
2. the thai curry place doesn’t open until 11a.m. and I scheduled the shoot for 9a.m. double oops.
But all is well! Salt Lake City is such a fantastic place for photography, fabulous buildings galore. We walked around the block and did the shoot in front of the Pierpont shops. tucked away in the perfect little back street hidden from the crowds.
My shoot was of a friend of mine and her girlfriend helping me build a couple portfolio for my website. In naples I worked mostly with children and families, here in Salt Lake I’m tiptoeing my way into the couples and wedding market. I had such a fun time photographing the two of them. They make such a perfectly sweet couple. Watching them interact tugged at my heart strings. sigh. ~red.
