Today I began location scouting and finally got to shoot some photographs in a spot i have been itching to try out. Two weeks ago on my way back to the car after going to the theater I walked by the TCBY in Sugarhouse and peeked in their window catching a glimpse of their amazing redesign. It was was love at first sight. Full of modern flare and dripping with gorgeous natural light, I knew it would be the perfect place for fantastic photography! When I walked in today I also had a chance to drool over their excellent frozen yogurt. Along with their excellent redesign TCBY has a fresh spin on frozen yogurt, they have changed things up in way to make your mouth water. Don’t take my word for it, go check it out!

Salt Lake City Photography Fireworks

We took Ziggy to see some fireworks for the fourth of july (on july 3rd-funny funny utah) this year. It was his first year to enjoy them. We took him last year but I don’t think he had any idea what was going on. This year I don’t think he understood what was going on either-but he was definitely entertained. In Salt Lake City the place to go for the best fourth of July celebration is sugarhouse park. They have the annual sugar house art festival, and at the actual sugar house park there are food vendors, people running around selling glow sticks and light sabers, live music, and a totally groovy fireworks show. This was my first year to take a stab at fireworks photography, and although my photographs aren’t spectacular-I don’t think I bombed it either. I caught some fun pics of a family lighting sparklers. I remember doing that as a little kid, maybe Ziggy will be old enough for that next year and I can snap some photographs of him and his first hands on fireworks experience. One year my dad accidentally shot some fireworks off in the basement and scared the cat half to death.

I know there was some debate about whether or not there would be a fourth of july celebration at sugar house this year, they’re having some trouble raising enough funds to keep the event going every year. one of my favorite things to eat. crepes. so many fabulous ways to consume them.
